COLORADO – Using marijuana may be legal in Colorado, but a controversial ruling handed down Monday says you can still be fired for it.

The Colorado Supreme Court case centered around Brandon Coats, a quadriplegic who says he was fired from his job at Dish Network in 2010 after testing positive for marijuana.

The court ruled in favor of Dish Network saying marijuana remains illegal under federal law.

State Attorney General Cynthia Coffman agreed with the ruling.
