FORT CARSON, CO – A Fort Carson soldier has been convicted of murder in the shooting death of a fellow soldier in Jordan.

Specialist Jeffery Page was found guilty Wednesday in the 2014 death of 19-year-old Specialist Adrian Perkins.

Perkins was shot in the head while he was carrying lunch to Page and another soldier at a guard post.

Page disliked Perkins because of his messy attire, lack of military demeanor and lackluster soldier skills. But, the defense argued that Page was tired and bored when he aimed what he thought was an unloaded rifle at Perkins.

Page is from Ohio, and Perkins was from California.

Both were assigned to Fort Carson’s 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team.

Sentencing will be today. Page faces a possible life prison sentence and a dishonorable discharge.
