COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – A Colorado Springs Police Officer, investigated for a videotaped traffic stop in which a black man was pulled from a car, has been cleared.
Police sent a letter to Ryan Brown earlier this month saying that the actions of Officer Dave Nelson were legal and proper, but offering no further explanation.
Brown recorded the stop after he and his brother were pulled over in March.
The ACLU says two white men wouldn’t have been treated the same way. They’re requesting the entire investigative file.
Colorado Springs Police Department can’t release more details about the probe without a waiver from Brown.
