COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – A dramatic lightning storm swept across the Pikes Peak region Sunday evening, and the National Weather Service is still tallying up the number of strikes.
Meteorologist Eric Peterson told KVOR there may have been up to 1,000 strikes during the storm’s entirety.
Several areas lost power, cable, and internet.
Large hail was also reported.
Firefighters investigated several lightning strikes near homes in southern Colorado Springs.
