DENVER, CO – A Denver firefighter has died, more than two weeks after falling through a roof while on duty.
John Whelan was on the roof of a building monitoring a dumpster fire when a skylight gave way. He fell around 20 feet.
Whelan sustained a broken arm, broken ribs and internal injuries.
The dumpster fire caused minor damage.
