
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – New information released in court documents about a Colorado Springs homicide detective who was arrested earlier this week.
Officer Paul Patton allegedly had an affair with a kidnapping victim he met while investigating her case. Patton was arrested was for lying about the affair. He originally claimed the woman was stalking him.
The two exchanged hundreds of text messages and had sex in his unmarked police vehicle.
Patton also shared details of cases he was working, including the recent shooting death of a 14-year-old boy in Memorial Park.
If convicted, Patton could face up to six years in prison. He’s free on bond and on paid administrative leave.
He’ll be back in court next week.
