PUEBLO COUNTY, CO – An 18-year-old Pueblo West man died on Sunday after he fell off of a rock cliff while hiking with friends near the St. Charles River in Pueblo County.
Five friends were hiking near the river in the San Isabel National Forest.They realized that one of the group was missing, and found their friend, who had fallen around 100 feet.
Two young males hiked out of the rugged terrain, while the other two stayed and tried to help the injured victim.18-year-old
Austin Schindler died at the scene.
Pueblo School District 70 is offering counseling services.
