PUEBLO, CO – A Pueblo man is recovering after being shot by his mother’s ex-boyfriend.
Police say 68-year-old Francisco Fresquez shot 49-year-old Robert Ramirez in the parking lot behind the Cesar Chavez Academy early Tuesday.
The victim is a custodian at the facility. He’s expected to survive.
Police don’t yet have a motive.
The shooter was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound hours later at his brother’s home.
School was not in session and no students were present.
