COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Should Colorado Springs ban sitting and lying downtown Colorado Springs and Old Colorado City?

City council will discuss a proposed ordinance today that would outlaw sitting, lying, reclining and kneeling on city streets, sidewalks, trails and objects in the right of way.

One area would be downtown between St. Vrain and Cimarron, and from I25 to Wasatch. Another zone would be in Old Colorado City, on Colorado between 21st and 31st, and Pikes Peak to Cucharras between 23rd and 28th.

There will be two public meetings for people to give their input. The meetings will be September 3rd, at 6pm, at the City Auditorium and on September 17th at the Westside Community Center.
