DOUGLAS COUNTY, CO – A retired Army Colonel suspected of killing a state trooper over the weekend had his $1 million bond reduced in a Douglas County court Wednesday. Suspected drunk driver Eric Peter Henderson is now out of jail. Henderson’s bond was lowered to $500,000 dollars.
Henderson, of Peyton, is accused of vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of a deadly accident, driving under the influence and careless driving causing death.
Trooper Jaimie Jursevics was outside her vehicle and trying to get a driver suspected of driving under the influence to pull over on I-25 south of Castle Rock when she was killed Sunday evening.

52-year-old Eric Henderson is facing multiple charges in the death of 33-year-old trooper Jaimie Jursevics, who was run down Sunday night on I-25. Henderson is being held on a $1 million bond.
Law enforcement from all over the state paid respects Tuesday. They lined the 300 mile route as Jursevics’ family was escorted from their home in Utah to Denver.
Investigators said Henderson was drunk when he hit her and then kept going. He’s facing charges of vehicular homicide, failure to remain at the scene of a deadly accident, driving under the influence, and careless driving causing death.
