DENVER, CO – Governor John Hickenlooper is defending his decision to welcome Syrian refugees into Colorado.

Local terrorism experts are weighing in on the debate that’s dividing our nation. They say there are much more dangerous threats to Americans than refugees running from ISIS. But, because no vetting process is completely foolproof, there’s still a legitimate concern that extremists could come here disguised as refugees.

Hickenlooper says governors should demand stringent vetting of Syrians seeking refuge.

Of the more than 700 Syrian refugees that have come to the United States so far this year, none of them live in Colorado.
