
DENVER, CO – Authorities have released the name of a man accused of shooting a Denver Police Officer during a traffic stop.
36-year-old Jason Wood is being held for robbery and attempted murder of a peace officer. He also had an outstanding warrant.
Officer Antonio Lopez was shot several times Tuesday and is in critical condition after surgery. Wood was also shot in the leg.
After the shooting, wood carjacked a nearby vehicle. He was arrested a short time later.
It was the second time in a week a Denver officer was shot. An officer was struck in the leg during a standoff the previous Wednesday.
