COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Colorado Springs’ Sit-Lie Ordinance is making a comeback.
Threats of lawsuits from the ACLU sidelined the law, which would ban people from sitting or lying down in the downtown area if it passed.
Some downtown businesses tell News 5 the problem has only gotten worse.
Councilman Tom Strand will co-sponsor the revised law, which will now be called the Pedestrian Access Law.
Punishment could include a $500 fine and 90 days in jail.
A vote will be taken later this month. If passed, it could go into effect by this summer.
