EL PASO COUNTY, CO – Authorities think they’ve resolved a 20-year-old local case of child sex assault with the arrest of a man Tuesday.
Texas authorities apprehended 49-year-old Joel Market on charges stemming from a 1996 El Paso County case. Authorities say it’s possible that Market assaulted other victims in or around Colorado Springs between 1996 and 1998. Police say Market is black, 5’ 8”, and at the time weighed 170 pounds.
Investigators say Market is known to enter homes through windows and doors, dressed in dark clothing and athletic shoes during hours of darkness. He confronts his victim’s, assaults them, and runs. He has physically and sexually assaulted both adults and children.
Police want to hear from anyone who thinks they might have been victimized by market.
