CANON CITY, CO – Tense moments as a bomb squad removes a suspicious device in Canon City Sunday night.
Authorities did not elaborate on the nature of the object, but witnesses say it contained a fuse.
19 families took shelter in a nearby church as explosives technicians from Fort Carson, Pueblo, and Canon City collected the item. A little after midnight, the device was removed for detonation, and residents were allowed to return home.
No other details were released.
