LAKEWOOD, CO – A 15-year-old girl who became the focus of a search involving more than 100 law enforcement officers in Lakewood says she has no idea how she ended up at a Walmart Supercenter more than five hours after she went missing.
Police are treating the situation as a possible abduction.
The teen says she was kidnapped and assaulted by a white or Hispanic male. Her phone was found 300 yards from her home in a park. Her backpack was found in her front yard.
A search ended within minutes after an Amber Alert was issued when the girl called police from a Walmart store.
An investigation is ongoing.
