COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Animal welfare officers in Colorado Springs are looking for whoever shot a dog multiple times over the weekend.

The remains were found Sunday afternoon under a railroad crossing near Mark Dabling Boulevard. Bullet casings, and the dog’s treats were discovered near the carcass. The animal appears to have been an older, Australian Shepherd mix.

Anyone with information should contact the Humane Society.
