Local high school mourns the death of classmate

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Grief counselors will be on hand at Air Academy High School through at least Friday.

The school is mourning the death of 16-year-old Denver Wolf.  She was shot by her father, 52-year-old Robert Wolf, on Sunday in Park County.

Wolf then drove to property he owned north of Fort Collins and took his own life the next day. The bodies were discovered Monday.

Wolf left a 13-page note in the car that mentioned the killing and plans for his suicide. The Gazette reports, he appeared to struggle with his divorce, as well as from mental illness and alcoholism.


 

FORT COLLINS, CO – Investigators say a Lakewood man shot and killed his 16-year-old daughter and then killed himself the following day north of Fort Collins.

52-year-old Robert Wolf shot Denver Wolf, of Colorado Springs, three times in the chest sometime Sunday after driving her from Colorado Springs to Park County. He then drove his daughter’s body to an area north of Fort Collins and shot himself once in the chest with a .22-caliber rifle early Monday.

The father kept several pages of obsessive notes documenting the shooting.

Larimer County Sheriff’s Deputies found the bodies in a vehicle during a welfare check.
