TRINIDAD, CO – Authorities say failing to yield to a train caused a deadly collision near Trinidad Sunday morning.
State troopers say a Chrysler Town & Country was struck by an Amtrak train. Two adults and three children in the van were killed, a fourth child suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to an Aurora hospital.
Family members identify the victims as Steve Miller, his wife Christina, and their four daughters. Four-year-old Heidi Miller was the only surviving passenger inside the vehicle. None of the 286 passengers on the train was hurt.

The state patrol says the vehicle was not stopped on the tracks, and drugs and alcohol are not suspected factors.
A Go-Fund-Me page in support of the family has raised more than $15,000.
