Some evacuations lifted for Hayden Pass Fire

FREMONT COUNTY, CO –  Some residents evacuated during the Hayden Pass Fire will be able to return home today.

Residents living in the Big Cottonwood Country Road 40, Fox Creek, Mosher Creek and Eagle Peak subdivisions will be allowed back into their homes at 8 a.m.

The 16,000 acre blaze was sparked July 8th by a lightning strike. It’s 35% contained.

A mandatory evacuation remains in place for County Road 6, just south of County Road 45. One cabin has been lost.

More than 800 fire personnel are fighting the fire.
