CASTLE ROCK, CO – The parents of a Colorado man reported killed while fighting against the Islamic State group says their son joined Kurdish forces because he admired them.
Jordan Mactaggart was killed recently in Syria. Details of his death have not been released.
A group called the People’s Protection Unit contacted his family to tell them their son had been killed.
Mactaggart is the second Coloradan reported killed while fighting with Kurdish forces.
Susan Shirley says the U.S. consulate in Turkey notified her that her son Levi was killed last month by a land mine.
