Beulah Hill Fire grows to over 5,500 acres

PUEBLO COUNTY, CO – A Type 2 Incident Command Team has begun heading up efforts to battle the Beulah Hill Wildfire in Pueblo County.

The blaze has scorched around 5,500 acres since it broke out Monday afternoon. There is no containment. Three helicopters and three air tankers are working with hundreds of ground personnel.

Eight homes and six outbuildings have been destroyed. No injuries have been reported. 1,950 residents are still under evacuation orders.

75 more firefighters are expected to arrive today. Crews are focusing on protecting buildings and controlling the fire’s perimeter.

Beulah school will remain closed today. FEMA has agreed to pay 75% of costs of fighting the fire. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

Monetary donations for those affected by the Beulah Hill Fire are being accepted by the Pueblo United Way. Donations for the care of animals displaced by the fire are being accepted by the Pikes Peak Humane Society.
