COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Scores of homeless people were moved to motels and a nearby creek after a Colorado Springs nonprofit group ordered a tent city on their property to be dismantled.

Wednesday’s move brought an end to a months-long encampment that included about 50 tents.

The Springs Rescue Mission has allowed people to camp there as it builds a new campus. Police have been called to the encampment 28 times in the last three weeks. The rescue mission hopes to complete its expansion by next month.
