DENVER, CO – The Department of Veterans Affairs responsible for serving vets in eastern Colorado and parts of Kansas is warning more than 2,100 veterans that their personal information may have been compromised.

The information was released when an employee emailed unencrypted documents to their personal email accounts. The information includes the veteran’s full name, last four digits of their social security number and a medical diagnosis.

The agency is sending letters to all who might be affected.

The VA is investigating and taking steps to prevent future incidents.
