EL PASO COUNTY, CO – A judge has delayed a ruling on defense motions to dismiss charges against former El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa and two former officers.
A judge said Monday he hadn’t had time to review grand jury transcripts in order to make a determination whether to drop charges against Maketa, his former Undersheriff Paula Presley, and former commander Juan San Augustin. All three are accused of corruption and abuse of power.
A hearing will be held next month to decide how to proceed.
