LAKEWOOD, CO – A brush fire on Green Mountain near Lakewood quickly multiplied in size because of windy conditions, but fire fighters made good progress against it last night.
The fire scorched nearly 300 acres within a 45-minute period. It’s now 90% contained.
Twelve homes were evacuated, but residents were allowed to return by 10 p.m.
There’s no word on the cause.
