COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – A hit and run driver is in custody after killing a woman last night at Academy and North Carefree.
Two pedestrians were struck by a pickup truck while crossing Academy in a crosswalk. A female later died at a hospital. The other victim is expected to survive.
Roads in the area were shut down for hours overnight.
An investigation is ongoing and it’s unclear if any charges have been filed.
