COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – A trial continues today for Michael Durante…one of two men accused of killing a west side resident during a home invasion.
29-year-old Kyle Sullivan was killed in April when he was attacked in his bedroom, allegedly by Durante and Daniel Newell.
Prosecutors say the pair thought the house was empty and went there to steal plants from a marijuana grow operation.
The victim was attacked with a knife and a baseball bat. Newell admitted he stabbed Sullivan and plead guilty to second-degree murder.
He faces up to 60 years in prison when he’s sentenced in April.
