EL PASO COUNTY – Former El Paso county Undersheriff Paula Presley and former Sheriff’s Commander John San Agustin were both in court Monday morning and their trail dates have officially been set.
The pair were charged in connection to a scandal that ended former Sheriff Terry Maketa’s career. Presley will stand trial in October and San Agustin will stand trial in November.
Presley is facing charges of extortion, conspiracy, tampering with a victim, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and three counts of official misconduct.
San Agustin will stand trial on the charges of kidnapping and false imprisonment. Maketa’s trial is set for the end of the month.
