COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – One man is in custody after an hours-long standoff that shut down a section of Colorado Avenue Wednesday night.
Police shut down the road between 34th Street and Ridge Road as they searched for two possibly armed and dangerous suspects wanted for attempted murder and kidnapping.
While one person was eventually arrested after hiding in a hotel for hours, another suspect is still at large.
The road closure caused major headaches for drivers as the busy area was blocked off during rush hour. The road has since reopened.
Police haven’t identified the suspect who was arrested or given any information on the second suspect, but they do say the second suspect isn’t believed to still be in the area. An investigation is ongoing.
