Four Denny’s restaurants in Colorado Springs were seized by state regulators Tuesday; four more will be shut down today

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Four Denny’s restaurants in Colorado Springs were seized by state regulators Tuesday, and four other locations in southern Colorado will be shut down today.

Owners had failed to pay nearly $191,000 in sales and payroll taxes.

It’s unclear how many employees lost their jobs, but Old Chicago is holding a job fair today for former Denny’s workers.

It’ll be from 11 to 4 at the Old Chicago at Austin Bluffs and Academy.

The owners have ten days from the date of the seizures to pay the back taxes in full.

If they don’t, the state will auction the restaurants’ machinery and equipment within 60 days.
