Flu season in Colorado is off to a fast start

Flu season in Colorado is off to a fast start.

A new statewide report shows more than 20 people have been hospitalized by the virus since August 1st.

Doctor Rachel Herlihy with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment says that’s higher than the average for this time of year.

She says this year’s virus has the potential to cause more severe cases in the elderly.

However, doctors predict that this season’s flu vaccination is more effective than last season’s.
