COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – No charges will be filed in a deadly officer-involved shooting. On the night of August 15th law enforcement was called to a Colorado Springs Walmart for a shoplifting incident.
The suspect, identified as 45-year old Steven Young, ran from the scene and led police on a chase.
Young was later shot and killed after he approached officers with what appeared to be a firearm.
It was later determined the weapon he possessed was a pellet gun.
The district-attorney’s office says policeman Anthony Voltz was justified in shooting young because he feared for his life.
