State Patrol believes excessive speed in slick conditions was likely a factor in Monday morning’s fatal accident along I-25

MONUMENT, CO – State Patrol believes excessive speed in slick conditions was likely a factor in Monday morning’s fatal accident along I-25.

Troopers say a man was behind the wheel of a 1996 Honda Accord on southbound I-25 at milemarker 162 by the port of entry in Monument when he lost control.

The vehicle went off the side of the road and rolled twice.

The man was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected.

Investigators say the unidentified driver was likely going too fast through the rain and snow.
