FLORENCE, CO – A Florence man, who sexually assaulted several children and possessed thousands of images of child pornography, will spend the rest of his life in prison.
65 year old Garland Root was sentenced Monday to a minimum of 3,180 years.
He pleaded guilty in July to a total of 53 counts.
Root was already a registered sex offender at the time of his arrest.
He was previously convicted three times, including once in 1984 for “lewd and lascivious acts.”
