COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The Mile Marker 117 Fire is officially contained.
El Paso County officials made the announcement Thursday night.
The blaze began Tuesday east of I-25 in the Hanover area.
It burned over 41 thousand acres.
23 homes were damaged and over 1 thousand people had to be evacuated.
Officials still don’t know how it started.
Crew will keep an eye on hot spots and continue mop up operations.
