COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The Colorado Springs Utilities Board voted Wednesday to recommend passing along the cost of watering city parks to residents.
The Gazette reports, the city council will vote next week on increasing water rates over the next two years to pay to water city parks, open spaces and urban forests.
If approved, ratepayers will see an increase by about half of a percent by 2019, and another half-percent in 2020.
That amounts to about a 34 cent increase a month to city residents.
