DURANGO, CO – A wildfire in southwestern Colorado continues to grow.
The 416-fire north of Durango in La Plata County is now over 5,100 acres in size.
Another 500 homes were evacuated Thursday, bringing the total to nearly 1,300.
Officials fear the flames could reach homes very soon.
600 firefighters are on scene but they’ve had to deal with hot and windy weather conditions.
The 416-fire is still only 10% contained since flaring up last Friday.
