A sports and events center in Colorado Springs is ready to go. It will be split between two downtown locations.
A 10,000-seat outdoor stadium for the Switchbacks minor league soccer team will be near Cimarron and Sahwatch streets.
The stadium will be accompanied by a seven-floor building to the south with hundreds of apartments and mixed-use businesses.
A 3,000-seat indoor arena will be built on the south side of Colorado College’s campus.
The Tigers men’s hockey team will move there from the Broadmoor World Arena.
Both projects will break ground later this year and should be open sometime in the year 2020.
