Officer Shooting Declared Justified

The 4th Judicial District Attorney’s office has determined a Cripple Creek police officer is justified in her use of force in an officer involved shooting last May.

Suspect Jeffrey Bader was found sleeping in a running vehicle along Highway 67 in Teller County. When deputies approached the car he took off and a 90 mile per hour chase ensued.

Bader crashed into guard rail. Karr went to help a deputy after Bader attacked him, Bader grabbed her by the neck and threatened to kill her. Karr then shot Bader in the leg.

Bader is scheduled for a plea hearing on September 4th
