Woman Hospitalized After Being Hit By Car

Speed, drugs and alcohol are not considered factors in an auto-pedestrian crash.

Late Sunday morning Colorado Springs police were called to South Academy and Hancock Expressway and found a woman who had been hit by a car.

She suffered serious injuries. Witnesses told police that a sedan had a green light and was traveling north on Academy when the female was hit as she tried to cross the road.

The investigation is ongoing but no charges have been filed.
