Local authorities want to cut down on illegal street racing in the city.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s office and the Colorado Springs Police Department have partnered up with the Pikes Peak International Raceway to get the fast and furious drivers away from the public streets and onto the track.
Beginning this Saturday, races will start at noon at PPIR with similar events scheduled in the coming months. Participants and the public can learn more by visiting offthestreetdrags.com
