Colorado Springs police are investigating a shooting involving an officer east of downtown.
Multiple calls came in around 2:45 Thursday morning for gun shots near Union and Boulder.
Police were shot at as they arrived and returned fire. One Springs Policeman was wounded.
He’s been identified as officer Cem Duzel, a five year veteran of the force.
Duzel is in critical condition as of last report. The suspect is in custody.
He received non-life threatening injuries. He has not yet been identified.
