Patrick Frazee appeared in Teller County Court in Cripple Creek Monday morning.
He was formally charged with 5 counts of first degree murder and solicitation to commit murder in the death of his fiancée Kelsey Berreth.
She disappeared Thanksgiving day after last being seen in Woodland Park.
The defense requested a gag order to be put on the case.
The judge denied that order.
There is another hearing in the case set for Friday as a judge considers a motion for DNA testing.
