The Colorado Department of Transportation says that the Gap Project between Monument and Castle Rock will soon affect a 7 mile stretch between Monument and Greenland.
That work is expected to begin before this week is out.
Meanwhile work has already begun on the north section.
By summer 2019 drivers will be experiencing construction on all 18 miles between Monument and Castle Rock.
