Equal Pay Bill Passes the Colorado Senate

A bill requiring equal pay for equal work passed the Colorado Senate and is on its way to the House.

If the bill becomes law, employers would be prohibited from discriminating against an employee based on their gender, and penalties would be enforced for employers who violate the law.

Republican Senator Vicki Marble voted against the bill saying she just doesn’t agree with something so focused against white men, saying “White men have done a lot for this country.”

Democrat Senator Jessie Danielson states, “This bill does away with the sort of insider, hand-picked successor.”

The bill passed the Senate 20 to 14.
