The Black Bridge Fire burning east of Las Animas is estimated to be 80 percent contained Monday morning with approximately 1,600 acres scorched so far.
Fortunately, no injuries are reported and no structures lost.
The blaze began Thursday night and seven homes were forced to evacuate; those evacuations were lifted by Sunday afternoon.
Crews from Las Animals, La Junta, Hasty, McClave, Chereaw, and Kioa counties are working together to contain the blaze.
