A Pueblo Police Officer is recovering after being shot in the legs Tuesday night.
It happened just outside an apartment complex at Acero and Lakeview Avenues.
Two officers were talking to a person and asked to search him, that’s when he ran off, pulled out a gun, and opened fire.
Police returned fire, and the suspect was killed.
One officer was hit, and is expected to survive. the officer is hospitalized in Colorado Springs, but may have to be transferred to Denver for medical treatment.
