A new addition will soon be coming to the southern downtown area in Colorado Springs.
A groundbreaking ceremony took place Monday for an 8 story, 259-room Marriott Hotel southwest of Tejon and Costilla streets.
The Gazette reports that the $75 million hotel will carry Marriott’s Springhill Suites and Element brands.
About 175 full-time employees will be hired, along with up to 75 part-time workers.
More than 300 construction jobs and 200 spin-off jobs will be created as a result of the building activity.
It should open in spring 2021.
