Rushing Colorado Rivers Have Taken 2 More Lives

Raging runoff from Colorado’s melting snow pack has claimed two lives on the Gunnison River.

Both happened Friday.

In one incident, a 31-year-old woman was paddle-boarding just west of Gunnison when she fell into swift currents and got stuck in a tree.

Separately, a 65-year-old woman died in a rafting accident where the Gunnison enters the eastern end of Blue Mesa Reservoir.

Neither victim has been identified.

Officials have urged people using Colorado’s rivers to exercise caution.
